Dobrogea is the territory
between the Danube Delta and
the Black Sea, which are the
2 main destinations of this
area. The northern part of
this territory contains some
of the planet’s oldest
mountains, the Macin
Mountains. Over the years,
around 4 million years, they
have eroded to only 500m
high when initially they
were 3000m high. Here you
will find many
archaeological monuments
important to Romania’s
history, some dating back to
1700 B.C. from the Greek,
Roman, and Ottoman
civilizations.
The east has an abundant of
numerous bathing and health
resorts, mainly located
along the 72km of sandy wide
beaches by the Black Sea.
The Danube Delta is home to
thousands of protected
species of wildlife, the
biggest natural reserve in
Europe.
