Moldova on the northern
border was once part of this
beautiful and historical
region. It was in Suceava in
the ancient court of Stefan
cel Mare where the rulers
were crowned.
In the capital Iasi each
ruler raised a monument and
now the city is crowded with
medieval churches, palaces,
art exhibits and sculptures
as a proud reminder of the
culture. Other than its
Medieval past Iasi is also
regarded as the most
romantic city in Romania.
The hills, the parks, the
lakes and the tranquil
streets remind us why it is
referred to as the sweet
town of Iasi.
Another must visit is the
monasteries in the Neamt,
genuine artistic treasures
surrounded by a magnificent
landscape. In the heart of
this Oak forest you can find
a Bison reserve, the
historic animal symbol of
Moldavia.
