Introduction:
This tour is an excellent choice if you want a mix between the nature, mountains, wild scenery with historic and cultural sites. During 3 hiking days you will explore some of the most beautiful Carpathian Mountains situated in the Brasov area, Bucegi Mountains, Piatra Craiului Mountains and Piatra Mare Mountains. The mountains offers you a diverse variety of landscapes which include peaks, rocks, waterfalls, forests, plants and animals. Come to experience the beauty of Carpathian Mountains and youâ™ll wish to come back again and again.
After a few days of trekking through the mountains we will take a break to take in the some famous sights of the area. In the cultural days youâ™ll visit the most famous castles from Romania: Peles Castle, Bran Castle, Rasnov Fortress. During your free time enjoy the charming medieval city of Brasov and the atmosphere of its old centre. We will also discover the most important Saxon heritage sights from Transylvania at Sighisoara, Prejmer and Harman.

Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1:
ROUTING: BUCHAREST - BRASOV
- Your English-speaking specialist guide will pick you up from your location in Bucharest (Hotel, Airport, etc...)
- Departure from Bucharest to the Medieval Town of Brasov
- Overnight in Brasov

Day 2:
ROUTING: HIKING THE BUCEGI MOUNTAIN
- Breakfast
- Depart for Sinaia - "Pearl of the Carpathians"
- Today's Hike will be a medium to difficult day
- The journey starts in Sinaia; we then go by cable cab to Furnica Peak at 2000 m altitude. Continue on to Furnica â“ Piatra Arsa chalet â“ "Babele" â“ "Sfinx" â“ Babele chalet. Hiking time: 3h30min.
- From the Babele chalet one can admire the surrounding landscape. It is possible to serve lunch at the chalet restaurant or for picnic lunch.
- For the less experienced hikers there is the option to take a cable cab back to the mountain foot in Busteni.
- For the more advanced hikers the route will continue: Babele chalet â“ Stag Valley â“ â˜Jepii Mari" mountain â“ Busteni. Hiking time: 3h-3h30min.
- The group will rendezvous in Busteni, and take a short 10 minute train ride back to Sinaia
- Return and overnight in Brasov

Day 3:
ROUTING: HIKING ON PIATRA CRAIULUI MOUNTAINS
- Breakfast in Hotel
- Today is time to explore "Piatra Craiului" Mountains. The Piatra Craiului Mountains are a mountain range in the Southern Carpathians. In Romanian; "Piatra Craiului" means "Rock of the King". The Piatra Craiului mountains form a narrow and saw-like ridge, which is about 25 km long. The ridge is regarded as one of the most beautiful sights in the Carpathians.
You can choose from the following routes:
1. Medium difficulty - Gura Raului Chalet â“ Botorogâ™s Fountain â“ "Prapastiile Zarnestilor" â“ Curmatura chalet. Time: 4h-4h30min. Possibility of lunch at the chalet or picnic.
Return to Gura Raului chalet. Time: 2h.
2. Advanced - Gura Raului Chalet â“ Botorogâ™s Fountain â“ "Piatra Mica" â“ "Saua Crapaturii" â“ Curmatura chalet. Time 4h-4h30min. Possibility of lunch at the chalet or picnic.
Return to Gura Raului chalet. Time: 2h.
3. Advanced - Plaiul Foii chalet â“ Bearâ™s Valley â“ Diana hut â“ cross the mountain ridge â“ "Saua Grindului" â“ Spirlea Hut â“ Plaiul Foii chalet. Time 8h30min-9h. Lunch will have to be served as a picnic.
4. Advanced - Plaiul Foii chalet â“ mountain ridge â“ Turul pick â“ "Padina Hotarelor" â“ Big Barsa Valley â“ Plaiu Foii chalet. Time: 9 h.

Day 4:
ROUTING: SINAIA - BRAN - RASNOV
- Breakfast
- Today we have set aside to visit the 3 most notable castles in the area
- Visit the stunning Peles Palace in Sinaia
- The Palace is the former summer residence of the kings of Romania. Nowadays the Castle is one of the most important museums in Transylvania with an impressive collection of furniture and ornamental objects, carpets, tapestry, sculptures, paintings, collections of weapons from the 15th up to the19th centuries.
- We then continue on to Bran Castle, the fictional "Dracula Castle" and set in the beautiful village of Bran, we will also see the village museum of Bran and the ancient customs house
- After Bran, we will move onto Rasnov, and the Peasant Fortress
- Rasnov Peasant Citadel is situated on a hill in Rasnov, with a fantastic panorama to the Birsei Mountains
- Return and overnight in Brasov

Day 5:
ROUTING: BRASOV - PREJMER - SIGHISOARA
- Breakfast in Hotel
- Start the day with a tour of the Medieval Town of Brasov; one of the most historical towns of Transylvania and the most visited in Romania
- We then depart for Prejmer; and visit the largest fortified Church in Eastern Europe
- The fortress has double walls and dungeons. Inside its walls there is a church, but the interesting thing here is the honeycomb like inner wall. Every family had one small room for sheltering in case the village was attacked
- We then depart for the Medieval Citadel of Sighisoara; the birthplace Vlad Tepes and one of the most preserved medieval cities in Europe. Situated in Mures County, on the valley of the Tarnava Mare river, Sighisoara (former Dacian settlement and also called âœthe pearl of Transylvaniaâ�) was founded by the German immigrants in the second half of the 12th century and it was turned into a city in 1407. Its medieval aspect may be found both in the centre of the city and inside the Fortress of Sighisoara. In this area, houses are built very close to one another, giving a sense of âœcrowdednessâ� (in order to occupy the least space possible)
- The main sights: Clock Tower and History Museum, Birth place of Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler), Covered stairs, Church on the Hill.

ROUTING: HIKING ON PIATRA MARE MOUNTAIN

- Option 1. Time for another day of hiking on âœPiatra Mareâ� Mountains which are also part of the Southern Carpathians (Romanian: Carpaţii Meridionali), also called the Transylvanian Alps, are a group of mountain ranges which divide central and southern Romania. They cover part of the Carpathian Mountains that is located between the Prahova River in the east and the Timiş and Cerna Rivers in the west.
Medium route: Dambul Morii chalet â“ 7 Stairs Canion - Bears Valley â“ âœSipotelorâ� Valley â“ âœSirul cu pietreâ� â“ Dambu Morii chalet. Time 4h-4h30min. Picnic lunch.
Advanced route: Dambul Morii chalet â“ âœSipotelorâ� Valley â“ 7 Stairs canion â“ Piatra Mare peak â“ Piatra Mare chalet â“ Dambu Morii chalet. Time: 7h. Picnic lunch.
