- Next we go to Alba Iulia. The modern city is located near the site of the important Dacian political, economic and social centre named Apulon (believed by many archaeologists to be the Dacian fortifications on top of Piatra Craivii). In the roman period the city was known as Apullum. In 1918, tens of thousands of Romanians gathered in Alba Iulia on December 1, now commemorated as the National Day of Romania, to hear the proclamation of the union of Transylvania with the Romania Kindom. In1922, Ferdinand of Romania was symbolically crowned King of Romania in Alba Iulia in an act which mirrored the achievement of Michael the Brave. Visit the old citadel, The Reunion Cathedral, The Reunion Hall and Museum, The Catholic Cathedral (who host the grave of Iancu de Hunedoara â“ the famous ruler of Transylvania.
- Arriving at Hunedoara, the land of Romanians origins. In this area was the capital of ancient Dacia Kingdom, and also famous due to Hunyadâ™s Castle. It looks like this area inspired the famous writter Jules Verne for his nouvell " The Castle from Carpathians".
- We then visit Hunyadâ™s Castle. The most representative castle in this part of Transylvania was built in 14th century and became famous as a property of Iancu of Hunedoara, the great ruller and fighter against the Ottoman Empire at that time. Built in the 14th century, on the place of an old fortification, on a rock below which flows the small river Zlasti the castle is a large building, with tall and diversely coloured roofs, towers, windows and balconies adorned with carvings in stone
- End the day in Hateg (20 km from Hunedoara).

It is considered to be a masterpiece of "Brâncovean" style, known for its architectural purity and balance, the richness of its sculpted detail, its treatment of religious compositions, its votive portraits, and its painted decorative works. The town of Horezu is well known for its people who make pottery and present it at an annual fair. There are special traditions which have been well preserved.
