Introduction:
On this tour package you will discover the best of the Danube Delta's bird
watching. Your specialist tour guide will take you through some of Romania's
most protected areas. The delta of the Danube River represents one of the last
natural paradises in Europe, a network of channels, lakes, and lushly vegetated
forests. It is home to a fascinating mix of cultures and people—and a huge
diversity of birds, presided over by the greatest of them all, the pelican.

After a transfer from Bucharest you will be introduced to the town of Tulcea
(known as Aegyssus in ancient times) a gateway to the Danube Delta, offering
many attractions, among them four museums devoted to art, archaeology,
ethnography, and natural history.
During the next 7 days you will be taken on a tour by your specialist tour guide
through the Danube's most amazing sceneries with many opportunities for bird
watching. Tour highlights include;
Mila
23 an interesting fisherman village, situated in the middle of the Danube Delta.
Usually in the morning pelicans can be seen just meters away from the houses.
Batag Monastery, a beautiful monastery built in the middle of the water, in a
wild place. Trekking through the Macin Mountains, the oldest mountains of
Europe. Beautiful landscapes, amazing scenery, very rare plants and birds (eg.
Oenanthe pleschanka). And Histria, hosting an important number of bird species,
especially pratincole, pelicans, ducks, bird of prey, etc.
